Extend-Moi

Extract 7

Just thinking about the use of the verb ‘cultiver’ along with AUTHENTIQUE. It seems to be related to the whole idea of farming – as in cultivating crops. Also has allusions to something you must work at in order to grow. Any other comments?

I think AUTHENTIQUE is Jean’s philosophy and has become more than the word authentic, It is how he wants to live his live: in the rugged authentic provence. It also shows his reliance on knowledge, he has adopted this idea that the countryside will fulfill his AUTHENTIQUE vision because of what he has read not what he has experienced. AND it provides an excuse to have Ugolin say lotantiques which is pretty quaint/symbolic of him.

    …..et bah……voila!
